I think that restaurants and fast food places should stop using plastic straws because the polluting the ocean The amount of rubbish and trash they are in the ocean right now is unbelievable I mean have you seen the video with the turtle they had to pull a straw out of his nose and so many turtles are dying by eating plastic bags thinking the plastic bag is a jellyfish 70.6 billion pounds of  rubbish are found in the oceans each year there is 57000 Blue whales combined I think they should have paper straws because they dissolve quicker.

We can stop climate change! Instead of using plastic bags or paper  bags start using these they are  really strong and they are reusable  they could probably hold like 10 rocks in one bag. I have 3 reasons why these bags are really good and why you should get them. 1st they aren't made out of trees 2nd they aren't plastic or paper 3rd they have pictures on them and they look cool. so for a small way of making a difference because the world needs improvements so we start with little things it's only the little things the count

Everyday I walk by a Factory, it would puff out black and grey smoke clouds non stop for hours on end. Today I saw the Factory on the Television. Lots and lots of people were protesting and yelling how bad it is to the environment, “Think of the future our children may have if we keep polluting the world with smoke!” s aid someone from the crowd. I had no idea why they wanted the factory to shut down b ut the only thing I could hear in my head over and over was: But does it make any difference to me?

Mum, where are you? ”I am scared” screamed my sisters. She was so scared of hurricanes. I went to her and said “it's only a little wind, we are not going to die”. Suddenly the  floor started flooding, so I went  to play in my room because does it make any difference to me? No It doesn't because I like water so I was having a really fun time. When the windows broke it was even better because there was a lot of stuff flying around. My mum was freaking out. My sisters were scared but I was having fun.

“But does it make any difference to me?” My apologies for my rudeness, but I just do not get nor understand why we should learn about history when the subject is  just a big event from hundreds of years ago.  Like it's literally in the name, HISTORY, meaning that its history, been and gone years ago, so why should we learn about it?  Although, even though it is a boring subject, I guess it kind of helps us to understand what the world was like years ago, before all this climate change, global warming, and world wide problems were introduced.

But does it make any difference to me? You ask that, knowing thousands of people and animals die daily due to climate change and pollution. How could you not make a difference! You could help change the world! I certainly know how you today could help change the world and get rid of pollution. When you walk by a trash can and see trash around just pick it up, it isn’t that hard. Or today you don’t have to take a car to work or school, you could take a bike. That's how you could make a difference to it!

It was just after six pm. I jumped on the couch and pressed the button on the TV remote to turn on the TV. I watched a news reporter talking about a city that had just had a big Tsunami. She was talking about how climate change had a big influence on the cause of this. I heard her say ” this has been happening all around the world and meteorologists expect it to happen more”. I then thought to myself “But does it make any difference to me?” She finished up by saying “ this is Suzie Norton, 7 News live”

“But does it make any difference to me?” I asked my teacher. “Maybe not now, but when the time comes that global warming does stab us in the back it might.” She said confidently. “But scientists have discovered that global warming won’t seriously affect us for billions of years! Besides, I won't even be alive and I'm the youngest in the class!” I said. “It is so that you can tell your children, and your children can tell their children!” She explained. “Well, you do have a pretty good point, but that still doesn't mean that I agree with you!”

I thought to myself “But does it make any difference to me?” I asked my Dad, he just ignored me and kept on telling me what would happen if people kept on throwing rubbish away on earth. Soon after he kissed my forehead and went away after turning off the lamp. When I heard him snoring I quickly got my books and my phone to learn about climate change, and survival. After a good 30 minutes I finally understood why climate change was so bad. In the morning I forgot that my dad had to go to work, oh well.

On a hot afternoon my Dad turned on the TV to watch the news,he pressed the power button and the news was ready for him and it was about climate change and global warming. Antarctica’s ice caps are melting, people are littering everywhere, the days are hotter, what are humans doing to earth!” But does it make any difference to me?” Yes, if people don’t change it will be all over the world.  There are still good people around the world, they do  good things to the earth; they have a plan to make the world a better place.

Stanford University is one of the biggest universities in its area. It also teaches climate change and climatology which I am studying. One of the very first questions I asked when arriving at Stanford University was ‘Does it make a difference to me?’. The answer is, yes. Yes it does. Infact, what I’ve learned over the past few years is that climate change affects everyone. Climate change is killing the environment, and soon it will start killing us. My job as a climatologist is to study climate change overtime, and help the world to stop doing things that affect it.

Hi, so yesterday I was at the river right and I was dying to walk along the water because it was so hot I thought I was gonna die! I finally got there. What!? There was no water anywhere. I have never seen the river bed so dry... It was as if the North Pole had melted, it was all water but this was all sand, and dead fish, smelly dead fish. So I thought , 'Well I better go home now then'. I got home and I went outside and I squirted the hose on myself in disappointment.

My family and I love to go for walks around Ashburton. We walked down to the Ashburton River one day when the temperature was around 37 degrees. It was one of the hottest days of the year so far, but days like that have been happening way more often these days. As we walked up we saw a huge crowd of people gasping on the bridge. When I looked down at the river, I couldn’t believe my eyes, the river bed was cracked and had no water in it. I’ve never seen the river bed so dry in my life...

I sighed quietly as we walked on the dried river bed, thinking about how animals would feel without any water. I decided to speak up, “How would you feel if you were an animal without any water?”.  They all looked at me confused as to why I would randomly ask a question like that, “I feel like I would faint, to be honest”, one of my friends spoke while shrugging her shoulders, looking down on the cracks of the river bed.  They all nodded in agreement to her statement.  “Right? I have never seen a river bed so dry. ”

Once I was with my family in Chile but it was so dry that my grandpa could not water any of his plants. We went to check on the little pond but nothing. There wasn't even a little drop of water. We went to check on the river but it was dry, in fact, I have never seen the river bed so dry. My grandpa was starting to freak out but I told him not to worry because I checked the weather report and it said that it was going to rain tomorrow. My grandpa calmed down and said “thanks”.

Kiko Ciron Week #4 (22)

The heat in the class was like the breath of Satan himself. Blazing hot. Last night, the news said there were wildfires spreading to the forests. After what seemed like an eternity and a half, the bell rang and we all dashed out of the school gates. Half of the school population was heading to the same destination. The river! The river is the only source of water in the area. Pipes lead to every house in town. When we got there, the water wasn’t blue.  Or brown.  Or gray.  Just nothing. I have never seen the riverbed so dry.

Audric Special prompt #5 (21)

‘Wow…’ I thought as I climbed the stairs up to the attic that my grandpa specifically said NOT to go up. I’m staying at my grandparents house this summer holiday and, well, so far it’s been extremely boring. That’s mostly because my grandparents have so many rules just because they're rich and have a mansion. Anyway, I decided I would be really annoying and go up the stairs anyway. Now I’m thinking this was a bad idea because if I get caught I’ll be told off real bad. As I walk up the stairs I can’t believe what I see...

It was a regular old day sitting when I heard a knock on the door. I went to go check what it was but when I got there nobody was there. I looked down and by my feet was a black box with the letters SDHA on it. I picked it up and put it inside. I said to not open it but I couldn't help it, I had to see what was inside. When I opened the box it looked like nothing was in it but then my eyes caught a glimpse of something, something with beady yellow eyes...

Michael, "I am home", "Hi mum. I just finished the christmas tree and decorations". "Great I have your gift so whatever you do do not open the gift!" "Okay, so what can I do?" "Mmmm, you can bake some cookies. I am going upstairs. "Okay but I want to open it soooo badly! I just had to see what was inside. OMG, it is an iPhone 12. "What are you doing?" "Nothing mum. I am just cleaning, waiting for the cookies to cook. We should go to McDonald's for tea tonight".
